Gators 28 Alabama 13

What a game- and only the second win EVER for The Boys at home against Alabama (now 2-7 lifetime vs ALA in Gainesville).

And HOW ABOUT THOSE GORGEOUS THROWBACKS??

I was really impressed with a few aspects of the team’s performance, and quietly disappointed with a few.

First, I thought Tebow looked great, and I love seeing he and Leak working together, putting Florida before themselves. Of course, I still think Leak is the better QB, but even The Bride is starting to salivate over the future under Tebow.

Another thing I like is the way Meyer is coaching to the Florida tradition. The electrical-tape-on-the-helmets, Gator Walk, tunnel tap, and focus on home field are all right in line with how I think the players should be brought to understand what goes along with putting on the orange-and-blue.

I was devastated with some of the rushing defense. In fact, the front four played well under their potential, I think, as I was all but begging for My Man RayMac to get to that Namath-wannabe, and I saw wayyy too many 7+ yard runs for me to get comfortable all day.

That said, at 10-0 Bama in the late first quarter, Pete and I were making predictions for final scores, and I produced ‘28-13 Gators’. The Bama offense hadn’t really produced anything to scare me, and I knew we’d get some kind of easy score off of the young kid QB (who went all Peyton-under-pressure when we finally brought some heat on him).

So, one game down, three to go in the deathmarch before we get a ‘break’ by hosting our homeboy hero at the Swamp.
