My Powerbook realized when there was no disc in the DVD drive and subsequently ignored any irrelevant presses of the Eject key.

The MacBook always seems to activate the eject mechanism. Just a little whirring-then-click. But I didn’t realize how frequently I touch it when hitting Delete.
