Went to London a week ago. Practiced my English accents on them, and picked up a few new wrinkles for my repartée. Gems like ‘you lot,’ ‘innit,’ and ‘luv.’ Saw Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, Oxford, Westminster Abbey, the National Gallery, British Museum and a ‘shedload’ of other touristy things. Had tea in a retail shop that’s been open longer than America. That’s perspective.

Pete was here this weekend. We rode bikes to Coney Island, ate chili dogs.

Yes, my shirt says ‘more cowbell.’ It was almost as cool as the other shirt Pete gave me. Grilled out. Rolled into a couple of off-island Zagat powerhouses in Peter Luger’s and Piccola Venezia. Both were overrated in the opinion of the wife and I, although the company was terrific.

Performed the ‘Paste Procedure’ on my Macbook Pro. There was a ton of factory-delivered paste in my box.

Had a brief scare, as it was spontaneously shutting down (as if for excessive heat!) the day after I opened it up. Went back in and reapplied (I had too little, believe it or not) and I’m doing great now. A net 15°C cooler machine, and it’s very pleasant. Did hit the battery life a bit, as the fans are running more frequently now under load. Posted my numbers online .

Blog brought me the phone number of an old professional pal (What’s up jcgonz!?) so I guess it’s worthwhile.

Pups got groomed, which is good. It’s funny, the only times I will have difficulty distinguishing Cirrus from Nimbus is when they are really gross or really nice. They always go from one to the other in dramatic fashion, however, and it’s always a treat!

Last but not least- turned thirty six last weekend and…

*WHASSUP CHIPS?!!* Four crazy people (Dad, Cristin, Pete and Geoff) went in to hook me up with the Gator chips, yo!

I’m to get them ordered and I’ll post pics when they come in.
